Admission Requirement

    The 4 years’ degree programme is designed for candidates with ‘0’ level entry qualification or equivalent while the 3 year programme is for candidates with ‘A’ level entry qualification or equivalent. Candidates admitted with ‘O’ level entry qualification will start from year 1 (level 100) while those with ‘A’ level qualification will start from year 2 (level 200).

    In all cases candidates for admission into the B.Sc. Economics Programme must satisfy the general regulations governing admission into the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences. In addition, candidates must meet the following Departmental admission requirements.

    Level 1 Entry requirements:

    To be eligible for admission in to level 1 of the Programme, candidates must possess one of following qualifications:

    1.Five WASC/NECO/GCE ‘O’ level credits, three of which must be in English, Mathematics, Economics or Commerce

    2.Any other qualification deemed equivalent by the University

    Level II Entry requirements:

    To be eligible for admission in to level II of the Programme, candidates must possess one of following qualifications:

    1.Candidates with GCE ‘A’ level/IJMB who have obtained not less than ‘C’ grades and two of which must be in   Economics, finance, Geography or Government.

    2.Candidates with OND (Distinction or upper credit) in Banking and Finance

    3.In both cases above the candidates must possess at least 5 relevant ‘O’ level credits including Economics

    4.Any other qualification deemed by equivalent by the university.
