The 4 years degree programme is designed for candidates with ‘o’ level entry qualifications or equivalent while the 3-year programme is for candidates with ‘a’ level entry qualification or equivalent. candidates admitted with ‘o’ level entry qualification will start from year1 (level 100) while those with ‘a’ level qualification will start from year 2 (level 200).
In all cases candidates for admission into the B.Sc. economics programme must satisfy the general regulations governing admission into the faculty of social and management sciences in addition; candidates must meet the following departmental admission requirements
Level I entry requirements:
To be eligible for admission in to level I of the programme candidates must possess one of the following qualifications:
1. Five wasc/neco/gce ‘O’ level credits, three of which must be in English, Mathematics, Economics or Commerce
2. Any other qualification deemed equivalent by the university.
Level II entry requirements:
To be eligible for admission in to level II of the programme candidates must possess one of the following qualifications:
1. Candidates with gce ‘A’ level/Jamb who have obtained not less than three ‘c’ grades and two of which must be in economics, finance, geography, or government.
2. Candidates with ond (distinction or upper credit) in Banking and Finance.
3. In both cases above the candidates must possess at least 5 relevant ‘O’ level credits including economics.
4. Any other qualification deemed equivalent by the university.
